Many dachshund owners know the problem. You try one dog harness after another, yet none of them truly fits. Either the harness slips forward, presses under the armpits or simply sits somewhere it should not. The reason is simple: most harnesses are designed for an average dog’s body and not for the unique proportions of a dachshund.

The long back, deep chest and short legs create special requirements for a harness. That is exactly why we developed a dog harness specifically tailored to this anatomy, together with canine physiotherapists, experienced master tailors and based on numerous practical tests. The result is an ergonomic dachshund harness that combines freedom of movement, comfort and safety.

This harness is especially suitable for dachshunds but also works exceptionally well for dogs with a similar body structure such as Jack Russell Terriers, Maltese, Bolonkas or Chihuahuas.

Ergonomic dog harness for maximum freedom of movement

The construction of the harness follows the natural movement of the dog. The chest area features an ergonomic Y-shape that keeps the shoulders completely free so your dog can move naturally. Especially for active dogs, it is essential that a harness does not restrict their natural movement.

Thanks to the adapted fit, the harness sits securely on the body without slipping sideways. At the same time, it is designed to protect sensitive areas under the armpits. The extended shape prevents pressure points and friction and ensures that your dog can wear the harness comfortably even for longer periods of time.

High quality materials for everyday life and adventure

For our dachshund harness we use only robust and durable materials. The webbing straps are abrasion resistant while remaining soft and flexible enough to comfortably adapt to your dog’s body.

The padding is made from softshell, which protects the coat and sensitive skin while remaining breathable and quick drying. The material is water resistant, durable and ideal for walks in all kinds of weather.

Flexible leash attachment for everyday walks and training

The harness features three sturdy leash attachment points. Two rings are located on the back and one ring is placed on the chest. This gives you flexible options to guide your dog or support specific training situations.

The neck area is also designed so that your dog can easily wear clothing underneath the harness. Especially for dachshunds, who often wear coats or sweaters in winter, this allows for a practical and comfortable combination.

Each dog harness is handmade in our own manufactory in Berlin. We place great importance on high quality craftsmanship, durable materials and a fit that truly follows the anatomy of the dog.

How to find the right size

To ensure the harness fits properly, you should measure your dog in three places.

• The neck circumference is measured at the base of the neck where the neck transitions into the shoulders.
• The girth is measured slightly further back, around the area of the second to last rib and not at the widest part of the chest.
• The bridge length is measured along the back from the base of the neck to the beginning of the back strap.

Your dog should stand calmly and straight while being measured. Do not measure too tightly or too loosely. If your dog falls between two sizes, choose the larger size to ensure a comfortable fit.

Size guide by weight (for orientation)

• XS – suitable for dachshund puppies up to about 3 to 3.5 kg
• S – suitable for rabbit dachshunds around 3.5 to 4.5 kg
• M – suitable for miniature dachshunds around 4.5 to 6 kg
• L – suitable for dachshunds around 6 to 8 kg
• XL – suitable for larger dachshunds around 8 to 10 kg

Our model Oskar is a male dachshund with a back length of 36 cm, a chest circumference of 41 cm, a neck circumference of 27 cm, weighs 5.6 kg and wears size M.
