Fleece Shirt for Sighthounds made from Polar Fleece, designed for deep chests and narrow waists

This fleece shirt for sighthounds was specifically developed for the unique body proportions of sighthound breeds. The deep chest, narrow waist, pronounced musculature and overall athletic build place special demands on sighthound clothing. Standard cuts often sit too tight around the chest or create folds around the waist area. This shirt was developed to solve exactly that problem.

The sleeveless cut allows maximum freedom of movement for the front legs and supports the natural motion of running and sprinting. Soft cuffs at the arm openings as well as an elastic waistband keep the shirt securely in place without applying pressure. The back is fully covered while the narrow waist is cleanly shaped, allowing the shirt to stay in position without restricting movement.

This model is particularly suitable for Whippets, Silken Windsprites, Galgos, Podencos, Salukis and similar breeds with a comparable body structure.

Functional Polar Fleece for active sighthounds

Made from high quality polar fleece, the material is lightweight, breathable and pleasantly soft. Sighthounds generally have very little body fat and tend to be more sensitive to lower temperatures. The fleece material retains warmth reliably without causing overheating and is ideal for cooler days or as an additional layer underneath another garment.

The material also offers a certain level of protection against moisture in snow or light rain and is durable as well as shape stable. Even after many washing cycles at 30 degrees, the shirt remains comfortable and keeps its fit. With this type of material it is normal for the fabric to shrink by up to three percent during washing. This characteristic was considered during the development of the sizes and does not affect the fit.

Handmade in our Berlin manufactory

Each shirt is carefully handmade in our own manufactory in Berlin. Our goal is to develop high quality sighthound clothing and Whippet apparel that adapts precisely to the anatomy of the dog, is functionally well thought out and reliably supports the dog in everyday life as well as during sporting activity. And at the same time looks very good.

Fit and choosing the right size

To ensure the shirt fits your dog perfectly, please refer to our size chart and measuring guide:

• Back length: measured from between the shoulder blades to the base of the tail
• Chest circumference: measured at the deepest part of the chest
• Neck circumference: measured around the middle of the neck where the collar usually sits

When measuring, make sure your dog stands calmly and straight. Do not measure too tightly or too loosely. The goal is a natural and comfortable fit. Start by selecting the correct back length, then check whether the chest and neck measurements match the chosen size as well. Your dog’s weight can also serve as a helpful reference.
Please note: the measurements in our size chart refer to the dog’s measurements, not the garment itself.

Despite careful measuring, it may still happen that the size is not entirely clear or a product does not fit perfectly. If you are unsure, we are always happy to offer a free and non binding size consultation. You can reach us at shop@karma-hund.de.

Our appeal for sustainability

Please order consciously. Every return places a burden on the environment and resources. If possible, please avoid ordering multiple sizes for selection. We are happy to help you find the right size in advance. If the shirt still does not fit perfectly, we will of course exchange it. However, we do not provide free return labels.

Size recommendation by weight (guideline)

Please note that these are approximate values. Breed specific differences, for example between Whippets and Galgos, as well as individual body shapes should always be taken into consideration when choosing a size.

• XS – for delicate Silken Windsprites or very small Whippets (approx. 7–10 kg)
• S – for Whippets, smaller Podencos or Windsprites (approx. 10–13 kg)
• M – for standard Whippets, Podencos or male Silken Windsprites (approx. 13–16 kg)
• L – for large Whippets, Podencos, smaller Galgos or Salukis (approx. 17–20 kg)
• XL – for Galgos, Salukis, larger Podencos (from approx. 21 kg)

Our model Hugo is a male Whippet, 1.5 years old, with a back length of 47 cm, a chest circumference of 59 cm, a neck circumference of 28 cm, weighs 12.9 kg and wears size M.

Safety notice

Please never leave your dog unattended while wearing clothing or harnesses. Even with the best workmanship, a dog may get caught or damage the garment. Responsibility always remains with the owner.
